The Harper atlas of the Bible
The object of this attractive, well-formated publication is to show the features of land and the location of biblical places. The arrangement is chronological (e.g., "In the Beginning"; "Emergence of Israel"; etc.); it is more like a heavily illustrated text than a standard atlas. Following the text is a selective glossary of "People of the Bible," and after that a substantial (c.50 pages) index to place names given on the 134 maps (all in relief, incidentally) in the atlas. Users without a background in biblical history will need to look up a good many words. Appropriate for reference sections in public and academic libraries.
