God so loved the word: a Christology for disciples, c.1-5
Wilson challenges followers of Christ to express the Gospel’s message by the manner in which believers demonstrate Christianity in the context of community. In his challenge, the book is organized into three sections. Section one explores stories illustrating what Jesus said and did in his proclamation of the Gospel, including his miracles and signs of the Kingdom – a combination of word and deed. Section two examines the life, death, and resurrection of Christ as lenses through which to view the world; these images serve as spectacles to correct humanity’s distorted vision impelled by sin. Section three investigates the practices of Christology, especially in light of the resurrection, ascension and sending of the Holy Spirit. Collectively Wilson’s writing highlights the Kingdom of God as highly active, presenting the context of God’s love for the world from the viewpoint of John 3:16.
