These have affected, have even helped shape, the land's indigenous cultural experiences and traditions, including those of the Jews. Judaism was often in conflict with these cultures, a conflict which peaked during the Hellenistic-Roman period, this war one of humanity's most productive and creative eras, encompassing numerous gripping historical episodes.
