Examination of the council of Trent, v.1
Martin Chemnitz, was known affectionately as the second Martin, the first Martin being Luther. He was a 16th Century Lutheran Theologian who examined the work product of the Council of Trent, the advent of the Roman Catholic Counter-Reformation which quietly continues today. The object of the Counter-Reformation is to subvert the Protestant Reformation where the Biblical principle of the priesthood of all believers or as Luther put it, every man his own priest and the only authority for the believer is Holy Scripture. Which Scripture teaches that a man is saved from the just wrath of Almighty God by faith alone in the finished work of Christ on the Cross and His bodily Resurrection from the dead. Scripture alone, by Grace alone, through Faith alone all of which the Roman Catholic Church anathematizes or curses officially in the Council of Trent. When, for example, in Ephesians 3: verses 8 and 9 the Bible states "For by Grace through Faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God-Not of works,lest any man should boast," The Council of Trent decrees cursed be anyone who says "you are saved by Grace through Faith alone without works." In other words, the Roman Catholic Church calls God the Holy Spirit who is the author of the inspired and revealed Word of God a liar.
