Christ freely offered: discussion of the general offer of..
This book, written by an Australian Reformed Presbyterian pastor in 1978, presents a short but to the point defense of the free offer of the Gospel in light of God's sovereignty in election. The issue, of course, is how we can offer the Gospel freely to all if God has ordained for all eternity who is elect and for whom Christ died. Stebbins does a good job of showing that there is no incompatibility between God's sovereignty in election and the free offer of the Gospel. Sections of this book include, "God's Delight That All Be Saved," "God's Goodness to Man in General," and "The Free Offer of Christ in the Gospel." This is a good introduction to the topic.
