The thought of the Old Testament: three lectures
The doctrine is the necessary outcome of a nation's religious experience. The main themes dealt with are God, the world and God's relations to it, and the problem of evil and its remedy. the conclusion reached is that Old Testament religion was, in its essential principles, as much a religion of grace as that of the New, that there is a general parallelism between the leading ideas of the Two Testaments.
