Christian theology, v.3
Christian Theology by Millard j Erickson is an excellent text for those wishing to familiarize themselves with systematic theology. He writes at a scholarly level yet makes the material accessible to the average reader. The format is especially helpful to the non-academic readers in that the subjects and chapters are arranged logically and with conceptual connections well established between them. The review questions for each chapter are especially helpful. It should be noted that any commentary or theology textbook is written from within the theological framework of the author. In this case Dr. Erickson primary framework is that of moderate Calvinism. This is evident in his treatment of the nature of God, the nature of man, the doctrine of salvation, and the doctrine of the Holy Spirit.
