How to be a Christian without being religious
The earlier edition of this book, with the Bible passages from the Living Bible and some from the King James, has been in my library for many years. It's the kind of "Christian book" one might well share with people, as it has a very clever, and clear explanation of the meaning of faith. This new edition, with The Message translation by Peterson, is an excellent update. It helps people to understand that being a Christian is NOT becoming a "pious" person, or a well-behaved, "nice person" who follows all the official rules, but being one who trusts God as shown to us in Jesus Christ, by faith through God's unlimited grace. If a pastor obtains this book, he or she has an excellent guide to help format one's own original message on God's gift of salvation to all of us.
