Preaching the word, v.2: Exodus
CMore than anything, the book of Exodus is an encounter with the character of God. It is a celebration of God’s mercy, justice, holiness, and faithfulness despite the persistent unfaithfulness of his people. His sovereign intervention and covenantal love are seen in the deliverance of his chosen people from slavery in Egypt, the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai, and the construction of God’s dwelling place on earth—anticipating the greater glory to be revealed in the Redeemer to come.
