A companion to this book should be James W. Sire's book Scripture Twisting. 20 Ways the Cults Misread the Bible. Moriarty unravels the complexities of the the Pentecostal movements of the last and current century. The Latter Rain Movement, The Old Charismatics and The New Charismatics. He discuses the Restoration Movement, Prophets and Prophecy with much clarity and scriptural backing. He touches on the Health and Wealth Craze and I thought the ending was very instructive as far as knowing "What are the Characteristics of Men and Women of God?" I feel that this is a must read for people like myself that have been in the clutches of various "unsound" teachers and so-call men of God. Read this with an open bible and and open mind. Excellent resource.
