This is an outstanding work, a compilation of commentaries on Yesha'yahu [Isaiah] 53 by some of the most highly regarded rabbis of the past. Such names as Rashi, Maimonides, Ibn Krispin, and Abarbanel, plus about 45 others. Their views of Yesha'yahu 53, its content and their interpretation of it, particuarly in relation to the Messiah are wide and varied. Some see it as Messianic, some as Isra'el suffering for the sins of the world, to some the servant is Yirmeyahu [Jeremiah]. It is amazing the wide range of views held by the rabbis.
