That is to say, its chief purpose is to elucidate the significance of Genesis 1-11 considered as Holy Scripture or as the revelation of divine truth. Christians belive that God speaks to us through the Scriptures of the Church, and it is with the divine Word spoken to us in Genesis that we shall be concerned.
