Reading Isaiah
Edgar Conrad's book is an act of considerable methodological courage. It seeks to articulate with sustained argument and with textual specificity an interpretation of the Book of Isaiah that reflects a drastically changed interpretive situation. His argument reflects on how far we have moved in Old Testament studies in a short time. It also suggests that we may be close to a clear form of interpretation that will brings us out of the confused, formless methodological situation of the past decade.
