The religion of Israel
This study is a fundamental critique of classical criticism. It seeks to draw ultimate conclusions, to suggest a new position in place of the prevailing one. It is not undertaken in an apologetic spirit and in the hope of restoring tradition to its lost eminence. Although criticism has, to be sure, often underrated the historical worth of biblical traditions, such of its findings as the analysis of three chief sources in the Torah have stood the test of inquiry and may be considered established.
