The tests of life: a study of the first epistle of St. John, c.1-2
This book stands alone among commentaries of 1 John - non that I've read matches its combination of depth, warmth, clarity, conviction, and worship. Only problem with this version is that it is a photocopy in a new cover, so the words can be hard to read at times from the rasterization effect. The author not only pays close attention to the text and it's analytical expostion, but discovers the mind of the original author through his logical use of a tri-fold structure of themes that can be seen to repeat themselves throughout the book. I strongly recommend this book to any serious student of this biblical book attributed to St.John, responsible for approximately one-third of the New Testament..
