Jesus in European Protestant thought 1778-1860
The Christian Church has gone through many crises of faith. But two in particular overshadow all the rest, for in them the issue at stake is that which sets Christianity apart from other religions and beliefs, the identity of Jesus Christ. The first of these crises began with the appearance of Jesus and lasted into the fifth century. It went through numerous phases and had several focal points.
